Unveiled at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade marks a bold evolution of Hyundai’s flagship three-row SUV. With a longer wheelbase (+70 mm), a more aerodynamic silhouette, and a stronger presence, the new Palisade seamlessly blends sophistication with family-friendly versatility.

Inside, the cabin continues Hyundai’s push into the premium segment. The interior is more spacious than ever and now includes first- and second-row Relaxation Seating, dual 12.3-inch displays, a 14-speaker Bose® premium audio system, and thoughtful touches like UV-C sanitizing trays and wireless OTA updates. Multiple interior trim options pair with nine exterior colour choices to offer a fully personalized ownership experience. But the biggest news for 2026 is what’s under the hood.

Introducing Hyundai’s Next-Generation Hybrid Powertrain

For the first time, the Palisade will be available with a hybrid powertrain—powered by Hyundai Motor Group’s all-new, next-generation hybrid system. This cutting-edge setup combines a newly developed 2.5-litre turbocharged gasoline engine with a dual-motor transmission layout, delivering 329 hp, 339 lb-ft of torque, and an estimated fuel efficiency of 7.0 L/100 km. With a projected range exceeding 900 km, this hybrid system offers a blend of performance and long-distance usability that’s ideal for families and road trippers alike.

This system isn't just efficient—it’s transformative. Hyundai’s engineers have applied lessons from their award-winning E-GMP EV platform to create a hybrid setup that improves fuel efficiency by up to 45% and boosts power output by 19% compared to traditional ICE engines in the same class. Smart integration of the first motor handles starting and energy generation, while the second motor drives the wheels and handles regenerative braking, resulting in smoother shifts, reduced NVH, and overall refinement.

Additional advancements include:

  • e-AWD capability via a rear motor for improved traction and acceleration

  • Stay Mode, adapted from EVs, allows all onboard systems to remain active using battery power while stationary, perfect for camping or waiting without idling.

  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality that powers external devices up to 3.6 kW

  • Smart Regenerative Braking and Hierarchical Predictive Control that use real-time road data to optimize energy recovery and battery charge.

In addition to the 2.5L turbo hybrid, Hyundai plans to offer a new 1.6L turbo hybrid version, delivering strong performance for mid-size SUVs and greater fuel savings. These enhancements form part of a broader electrification strategy that will see the hybrid lineup expand from compact models to large SUVs and luxury nameplates across Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis.

Traditional Power, Elevated Performance

For customers who prefer a conventional setup, the Palisade also offers a newly tuned 3.5L V6 producing 287 hp, with a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs—ideal for boats, trailers, or campers.

Off-Road Ready: The New XRT PRO

Adventure-seekers will appreciate the debut of the XRT PRO variant. Featuring 8.4 inches of ground clearance, all-terrain tires, underbody protection, and an electronic rear limited-slip differential, the XRT PRO is engineered for those who prefer the road less travelled.

Safety and Technology at the Forefront

Hyundai continues to lead in safety innovation, equipping the Palisade with ten airbags—including third-row seatbelt pre-tensioners—and the full suite of Hyundai SmartSense safety tech. A new dual-camera dashcam comes built-in, and the Palisade’s intelligent driver-assistance features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Highway Driving Assist, and more.

The 2026 Hyundai Palisade will arrive in ICE form by early summer 2025, with hybrid models following in the fall. All models are built in Ulsan, South Korea. By combining breakthrough hybrid engineering with upscale design and technology, the Palisade continues to evolve as a standout in the three-row SUV segment, ready to meet the demands of today’s modern families.
