Ford revealed the details on its refreshed 2025 Ford Maverick, including a new, hotter version called the Lobo. The American automaker gave the compact truck a new front grille and LED headlights, a new set of 19-inch wheels, and a new available Black Appearance Package featuring different black design elements, including the badges. The interior has also been revised, with new interior colours and a 13.2-inch touchscreen, with available Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, significantly larger than the previous 8-inch display. The Ford Maverick is now divided into four trims: XL, XLT, Lariat and Tremor, the off-road trim, which is now separate rather than an option.
Another exciting development for this small pickup truck is the availability of all-wheel drive for the hybrid powertrain. Under the hood, the 2.5L 4-cylinder hybrid engine develops about 191 hp and can tow up to 4,000 lbs with the AWD setup, with a payload capacity hovering around 1,400 lbs. The base engine remains the 2.0L Ecoboost 4-cylinder engine, which develops 238 hp, and towing capacity is the same as the hybrid.
Finally, Ford unveiled a new exciting trim called Lobo. Tuned steering makes Maverick Lobo drive more like a performance car, with torque vectoring through a twin-clutch rear drive unit and bigger, enhanced brakes with dual-piston front brake callipers used on the Focus ST sold in Europe.
Inspired by drifting and autocross, there’s also a new Lobo drive mode, which improves cornering performance, grip, and stability, helping to minimize understeer. The Ford Maverick will now appeal to almost every type of buyer. Stay tuned for our video on the 2024 Ford Maverick, which is coming out soon!
